  • Strategic Sourcing Manager

    CARA Operations Limited is currently searching for a Strategic Sourcing Manager to join our Sourcing team based out of our head office in Vaughan, Ontario.     This individual is responsible for seeking out the best business partnerships to deliver exceptional value, quality and service to our internal customers.  Through understanding the key business drivers within his/her area of responsibility, the Strategic Sourcing Manager will select business partners and control the product sourcing and negotiating process with vendors. This individual is responsible for sourcing specific products that the CARA brands and chefs require and ensuring that they are developed and delivered at the right time at the right cost and on spec   As the ideal candidate you will offer the following: - 3 to 5 years business-to-business or buying experience - Customer service orientation is a must - Strong negotiation skills - Solid understanding of financial systems, with ability to analyze and compare multiple RFP bids and identify the most cost effective proposal - Strong communication  and presentation skills, with ability to communicate effectively with internal stakeholders and vendor partners at different levels of seniority - Understanding of broadline distribution systems is an asset - Ability to manage resources, anticipate issues and monitor business controls - Places a high priority on teamwork and achieving collective goals - Knowledge of Microsoft Office (Excel, PowerPoint, Word, and Project) - Strong understanding of category knowledge, vendor capabilities, and distribution processes   Your duties and responsibilities will include (But are not limited to)   Cost Savings - Identifying, presenting, and executing cost savings and value added opportunities and projects for assigned categories - Leverage CARA’s scale to negotiate lowest possible cost on all items sourced and all RFP contract negotiations - Execute RFPs / RFQs for assigned categories, analyze vendor proposals, make vendor/product recommendations, cost negotiation   Product Sourcing - Work collaboratively with Sourcing Business Managers to understand Brand projects, briefs, and product needs - Work with vendors for assigned categories to source required products, negotiate lowest cost, and finalize commercial details - Support Sourcing Business Managers by providing regular updates on project status and ensuring projects are on track   Cara offers a great open office work environment, with a competitive salary, group benefits, subsidized bistro, on site gym facilities and a 20% discount to most of our restaurants.   As part of our accessibility commitment, We are committed to providing an accessible environment for all of our customers, employees, and job applicants, and will make available to any selected applicants accommodations and/or accessible formats should he/she require.    We thank all candidates for their interest in opportunities with us however, only the candidates selected for an interview will be contacted.  No phone calls or emails please.   At this time, we do not require assistance from recruitment agencies.
