Variety isn’t the only thing we offer – along with competitive compensation, we operate in a fast paced and energetic environment where effective team work and self-motivation to work independently are harmonious traits.    We are currently in need of a new Tax Manager to help lead our Tax Department here in our Vaughan ON Home Office.   The Tax Manager is a ‘hands on’ Tax Specialist that will contribute significant expertise to the tax function including tax compliance, tax provisions, tax research and planning for Corporate Recipe. The Tax Manager will be responsible to lead a variety of functions including quarter end, year-end and audit processes, dispositions and acquisitions, while maintaining and implementing the company’s legislative and regulatory compliance requirements.  Depending on your experience and skills, this role will lead others in the department including Tax Analysts and report into the current Director of Financial Reports with a dotted line to Recipe's CFO.    Job Duties Include: - The Tax Manager will play an important leadership role in developing, implementing and maintaining the company's legislative and regulatory compliance management framework and programs. - Manage the quarter end and year-end tax processes including income tax filings, liaising with the company’s independent tax auditors and responding to year-end schedules requests. - Prepare tax provisions on a quarterly and annual basis. - Oversee and respond to inquiries for federal and provincial income tax and commodity tax audits. - Provide projected income tax provisions and capital tax expense for annual budgeting process. - Provide advice on sales tax applications on specific business transactions. - Monitor tax developments and provide guidance as to the potential impact on Recipe and its business. - Manage tax due diligence, structuring of acquisitions/dispositions and tax integration matters. - Investigate and recommend tax planning opportunities. - Provide general tax advice and expertise as required. - Approve and monitor all PST, GST and QST accounts. Required Skills: - Minimum of 7 years in progressively senior tax positions - Hands on approach to the function - Accounting designation, CPA, CA, CGA and completed the CICA’s in depth tax course (Level 1 and 2) - Ability to provide strategic tax advice to finance leadership team - Strong technical skills combined with solid business acumen - Previous experience with IFRS standards an asset - Previous experience with multiple legal entity and multi-divisional corporate structures - Proficiency in the use of tax preparation software - Knowledge of JD Edwards financial system would be an asset - Foundational competencies in professional, technical, control of finance and business operations - Working knowledge of Microsoft Office with advanced proficiency in Excel - Well organized, strong communication, presentation and interpersonal skills - Ability to work in a team environment as well as independently Recipe/CARA offers a great open office work environment, with a competitive salary, group benefits, subsidized bistro, on site gym facilities and a 20% discount to most of our restaurants.   As part of our accessibility commitment, We are committed to providing an accessible environment for all of our customers, employees, and job applicants, and will make available to any selected applicants accommodations and/or accessible formats should he/she require.    We thank all candidates for their interest in opportunities with us however, only the candidates selected for an interview will be contacted.  No phone calls or emails please.   At this time, we do not require assistance from recruitment agencies.
