Variety isn’t the only thing we offer – along with competitive compensation, we operate in a fast paced and energetic environment where effective team work and self-motivation to work independently are harmonious traits.   CARA Operations Limited is actively searching for a Brand Accountant to join our Finance Team in Vaughan ON.   Position Overview: The Brand Accountant is responsible for the day-to-day accounting functions and accounting support for designated brands.   Responsibilities:     - Preparation and analysis of period-end financial statements, and other financial reports required as part of the period end process - Liaise with internal departments (i.e. AP, AR, Payroll, Banking, Tax, Real Estate, Legal, Restaurant Performance team) with a view to resolve issues and propose/implement changes that improve efficiencies - Ongoing coordination and reconciliation of balance sheet accounts and preparation of various schedules for management and auditors as required - Provide accounting and analytical support to senior brand management, ROM’s & restaurant managers - Review associates expense report and brand invoices - Manage processes for changes in restaurant status (new, closures, asset sales, take backs). - Ad-hoc projects, analysis, troubleshooting and problem solving as required Key Challenges: - Manage and meet tight financial reporting deadlines - Obtaining financial information from multiple sources in a timely and accurate manner - Explaining P & L analysis information to brand management and restaurant managers Required Skills: - Bachelor’s Degree in commerce or business - Minimum of 2+ years experience in progressive financial positions - Experience with finance applications of enterprise systems (JDE preferred) - Strong accounting knowledge and completion of CPA designation - Ability to work towards and meet deadlines - Ability to work in a team environment - Willingness to learn and ability to coach where training or implementation of procedures is required - Ability to plan one’s own work load and manage competing demands - Strong knowledge of Microsoft Office applications, especially Excel - Strong analytical skills for P & L analysis and account reconciliations   Cara offers a great open office work environment, with a competitive salary, group benefits, subsidized bistro, on site gym facilities and a 20% discount to most of our restaurants.   As part of our accessibility commitment, We are committed to providing an accessible environment for all of our customers, employees, and job applicants, and will make available to any selected applicants accommodations and/or accessible formats should he/she require.    We thank all candidates for their interest in opportunities with us however, only the candidates selected for an interview will be contacted.  No phone calls or emails please.   At this time, we do not require assistance from recruitment agencies.
